PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiring member and a method for laying it in which the direction can be changed easily and the work for inserting wires can be facilitated. SOLUTION: The wiring member 1 is substantially tubular and has an axial slit 2 in the circumferential wall thereof. The wiring member 1 is used for containing wires and the circumferential wall thereof has substantially circular cross-section. The wiring member 1 is bent smoothly at a desired part by means of a pipe bender and laid in a building.
