<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent any inappropriate operation caused when equipment such as a printer is temporarily turned into a non-operating state, and then turned into an operating state again in an adaptor for connecting the equipment with a network. SOLUTION: Whether or not the printer is in the operating state is detected through a bi-directional interface with the printer by a print server for connecting the printer with the network. When it is detected that the printer is in a non-operating state, that is, it is detected that the a power source is turned off, or that the printer is disconnected, at least a job which is being transferred among jobs accepted by the print server is canceled. Thus, it is possible to prevent any inappropriate operation such as the printing of the ghost of characters when the printer is turned into the operating state again.</p> |
