<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix type liquid crystal display device which can be made further larger in size of the panel while reducing gate delay and can be produced at a low cost by decreasing the number of masks, and to provide a method of producing that device. SOLUTION: In the active matrix liquid crystal display, the arrangement of liquid crystal molecules is changed by generating an electric field almost parallel to a thin film transistor array substrate and a counter substrate facing the thin film transistor array substrate between a pixel electrode and a common electrode formed on the thin film transistor array substrate. The thin film transistor array substrate is equipped with gate electrodes and lines having a three-layer structure of titanium film 15, aluminum film 1 and titanium film 15, and with source electrodes and lines having a two-layer structure of titanium film 25 and aluminum film 21.</p> |
