PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet processing device which is capable of transporting sheets at a specified transporting speed on an image reader. SOLUTION: A sheet passage in which the sheets moved on platen glass 8 at a prescribed speed by a sheet transporting section pass is formed by guide members 9 disposed fixedly in the position of the platen glass 8 facing the prescribed exposure reading position and the platen glass 8. Both sides of the guide members 9 in a direction orthogonal with the sheet transporting direction thereof or both side ends are provided with at least one pair of height reference members 11. Further, the device body is moved in a vertical direction by hinge parts in such a manner that the height reference members 11 are grounded to the platen glass 8 at the time the device body is closed, by which the distance between the platen glass 8 and the guide members 9 is maintained at a prescribed value.
