PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a real image type finder optical system which suppresses ghost images and flares, without making a lens itself large-sized and has a constitution suitable for reduction of the thickness and has a good appearance. SOLUTION: This finder optical system is provided with an objective optical system 1 having a positive refracting power, image-erecting optical systems 2 and 4 which erect an image formed by the objective optical system 1 and have plural reflection faces 2b, 4b, and 4c, and an eyepiece optical system 5. One lens L3 in the objective optical system 1 has a asymmetrical shape of revolution to an optical axis O and is coated with a light-shielding paint 10, which intercepts reflected light on its end face. The turning angle of the optical axis on the reflection face 2b is acute.
