PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reproduced image signal at a desired resolution without deteriorating the precision of character recognition. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an image reading part 1002 where an image of an original 1001 is read and an image recognizing part 4000 where a character in the read image is recognized at a 1st resolution and the recognized character is replaced by a 2nd font with resolution that is lower than the 1st resolution to generate the reproduced image. Furthermore, the reproduced image is generated by replacing the recognized characters with a font that is processed to be modified. |
