<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component capable of preventing complete thermal breakdown by a method wherein a shortcircuit path is formed before the component is broken down completely by heat and a current flow to an element is restrained. SOLUTION: End portions of lead terminals 3a, 3b are electrically connected and fixed with electrodes 2a, 2b of a varistor element 1. Connection parts of the electrodes 2a, 2b and the lead terminals 3a, 3b are covered with thermoplastic resin film 5. A metal segment 6 is inserted from the upper part of the resin film into the varistor element 1 and fixed. Parts except leading-out parts of the lead terminals 3a, 3b are covered with seath resin.</p> |
