PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent data particular to a film from being carelessly altered, and prevent un-intent data particular to the film from being photographed in a prescribed area, even in a photographer's mis-operation. SOLUTION: This camera comprises a data setting means for setting the data particular to a film for taking a photograph in a prescribed area of the film, a film detecting means for detecting the presence or absence of the film, and data alteration control means (#102-#104) for inhibiting alteration of data by the data setting means when the film detecting means detects that a film is loaded in the camera.
