PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display detailed information of a local event in an STB or a DTV and to stored desired data. SOLUTION: An EPG generating section 12 receives a TS via a data broadcast reception section 11 and uses an event information table(EIT) included in the TS to generate an electronic program guide(EPG). An EPG display section 13 displays the EPG on its screen. Furthermore, a display item division section 14 uses a local event information table(LIT) to divide the local event into display items. Then an event display information display section 15 displays the detailed information of the divided local events onto the screen. Thus, the function of the EPG in a digital broadcast can considerably be enhanced.
