PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a carriage arm from colliding with a disk and from destroying data on the disk owing to a shock load exerted on a magnetic disk device. SOLUTION: A tapered part 35b is installed at the tip part of a suspension mount 35 as a means for releasing collision force with a disk when a carriage arm 31 is bent and a buffer member is fitted to the tip part as well. Besides, a rib is installed in a suspension and a buffer spring or a buffer member in the mount fitting part of the suspension. Thus, a large damage is avoided in the disk by enlarging a contact area when the carriage arm is brought into contact with the disk. The number of out-of-plane primary natural vibrations in a spindle fitting part and that of a carriage fitting part in a base where a fitting substrate is formed are matched.
