PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a finder device capable of making a finder optical system selectively correspond to every type of photographic optical systems and capable of shortening a product development period and attaining cost reduction. SOLUTION: A camera with a built-in finder device of this invention is provided with the finder device adaptable to every type of zoom lens barrels having different zooming ranges, and the zooming (variable power) ranges of the lens barrels are in the range of a focal distance Zmm of 38 to 80, the focal distance Zmm of 38 to 105, or the focal distance Zmm of 28 to 80, and as for the finder device, variable power finder optical systems 62 and 63 are made movable to variable power positions capable of covering all the zooming ranges of the lens barrels, and the finder device is assembled to the zoom lens barrel at a prescribed zooming reference position in a common zooming range.
