PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a conversion system between a character data and a speech data for communicating between character and speech through a network, especially between a deaf-and-dumb person and a normal person. SOLUTION: The system 10 is provided with a terminal control means 16 connectable to users A1-An via a public network 12, and a modem 22 connecatble to official organizations or private organizations such as the polices and the banks via a public network 14. The system has further a control part 18, a storage device 20, and a retrieval means 24, to identify an information requester, and has an A-D/D-A conversion means 26, digital data memory 28, a control part 20, a character data/speech data conversion means 30, dictionary memory 32, sound source memory 34, and speech recognition part 36 to communicate with specific organizations of the users. The system 10 communicates with the users via character data, while it communicates with connection destination via speech data. |
