PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for melting an ice capable of easily melting the ice solidified in cooling piping, and to provide an ice water cooling system capable of shortening a time up to restarting. SOLUTION: When an ice in cooling piping 18 is compressed and solidified to block the piping by the stop of the ice water cooling system, the ice water is supplied to the piping under a predetermined pressure by a pump 20c. Simultaneously, a linear heater 30 provided along the predetermined section of the piping including a blocked region is operated to locally melt the compressed and solidified ice along the heater 30, and a slender channel extended in the overall length of the section is formed. The ice water supplied by the pump flows through the formed channel. In this case, the water flows while comminuting the circumferential ice. The pressure of the upstream side of the section of the piping and the pressure of the downstream side are measured substantially simultaneously upon starting of heating by the heater 30, and heating of the heater 30 is stopped when the pressure of the upstream side and the pressure of the downstream side substantially coincide. |
