PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the incurrence of a shock of a vehicle, and to prevent a slip of a motive power transmission system in a continuously variable transmission when a driving wheel returns to a grip state from a slip state in a control device of a vehicular continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: In controlling a vehicular continuously variable transmission connected to an engine via a motive power transmission device capable of adjusting engaging force, when a slip detecting means 51 derives the fact of slipping in a driving wheel for rotating by receiving driving force from the continuously variable transmission, at this time, a shift of the continuously variable transmission is controlled so as to hold the transmission ratio just before a slip of the driving wheel by a slip corresponding control means 52 to increasingly correct line pressure of the continuously variable transmission to reduce engaging force of the motive power transmission device capable of adjusting engaging force between the engine and the continuously variable transmission.
