PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump hydraulic turbine stabilizing a transient phenomenon of water hammer and others at the time of cutting off a load which is hard with a conventional pump hydraulic turbine. SOLUTION: Corrective control to actuate a water quantity adjusting means to temporarily open is carried out even when closing control of the water quantity adjusting means by original working of a governor is carried out at the time of cutting off a load.
