PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a conventional level detector where employing a low pass filter with a small time constant causes an unstable output and many detection errors and employing a low pass filter with a large time constant causes a detection error because of its slow response speed resulting in obtaining a smaller detection value than an original value. SOLUTION: This level detector is provided with a memory section 10 that stores correction coefficients, which are decided based on a ratio of a detected value resulting from detecting a position detection signal periodically outputted from a high frequency power amplifier section 2 by a level detection section 5 to an original transmission power to be sent from the high frequency power amplifier section 2 and with a control section 9 that reads a correction coefficient corresponding to a present transmission level from the memory section 10, multiplies the coefficient by an output signal from an analog/digital conversion section 7 converting an analog signal from the level detection section 5 into a digital signal and uses the product for a normal level detection value of the high frequency power amplifier section 2.
