PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boil-off gas cooling method and a device therefor improving the efficiency of cooling boil-off gas by setting the flow direction of boil-off gas and the jet direction of jetted liquid drops of LNG to completely gasify the liquid drops of LNG. SOLUTION: This boil-off gas cooling device is provided with a cooler 10 formed of a vertical cylindrical body for allowing boil-off gas to flow in from an inflow port 11 provided at the lower part and to flow out from an outflow port 12 provided at the upper part, a plurality of spray nozzles 14 arranged in the cooler 10 to jet liquid drops of LNG is a flow direction in the flow of boil-off gas, and a control device 17 for controlling a plurality of spray nozzles 14 on the number of jetting spray nozzles.
