PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the shaping of waveform even though a speeding-up progresses and plural BDs are connected through one conductor and also the signals of both of them are transmitted in the same logic. SOLUTION: An electrostatic latent image on a photoreceptor drum formed by scanning the photoreceptor drum with plural laser beams while performing scanning once is made a visible image by using toner and transferred and fixed on a specified recording medium in this image forming device. The device is provided with a scanning means for performing scanning with plural laser beams, a beam position detecting means for detecting a scanning position for each of plural beams performing scanning by the scanning means, and a frequency dividing means frequency-dividing an output signal from the beam detecting means. Furthermore, when the number of plural laser beams is an odd number, output from the frequency dividing means is reset by a reset means for restoring the output from the frequency dividing means to the logic of an initial state when specified time elapses after detecting the beam detected first.
