PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a tightening mechanism in an end plate and a tightening rod is likely to be prolonged in usual high molecular electrolyte fuel cell, and to provide a compact sized and light-weight fuel cell stack. Some tightening mechanism which is comparatively compact in size and light in weight without using a thick end plate or a tightening rod has been proposed, however, reliability of such tightening mechanism against shock and vibration has not yet been sufficient. SOLUTION: Cylindrical connection parts are respectively provided at an end portion of a metallic tightening band and at an assist plate so that both are connected by a circular rod like metallic pin having high strength and an E-ring. A tightening pressure is applied to a stacked fuel cell through the end plate with to a dish spring arranged on the assist plate and a bolt. In such a tightening manner, a high molecular electrolyte fuel cell which is compact, light, and high in reliability against shock and vibration can be obtained. |
