The housing (10) and the filter element (12) are oval to suit the contours of the cover (11) of the vehicle engine and the filter system as such consists of a preliminary filter cyclone (19) and a main filter element composed of a zee-folded paper filter element (12) and a secondary fleece filter element (13) to guard against dust ingress during exchange of the main filter (12).
