<p>Provided is a lithium primary battery in which the cathode comprises an electroactive sulfur-containing material and the electrolyte comprises one or more non-aqueous solvents and one or more voltage-enhancing reactive components, wherein the reactive components are non-electroactive but enhance the voltage of the lithium primary battery. Suitable voltage-enhancing reactive components include organic halides, inorganic halides, and phosphorus chalcogenides. Also are provided methods for making the lithium primary battery.</p> |
