The invention concerns a method for producing a multidirectional textile web and the installation therefor, wherein several unidirectional textile webs (1) are superimposed along different directions and in assembling together said unidirectional textile webs. The method consists in forming, from at least one tow, at least one of said unidirectional textile webs consisting of discontinuous fibres independent of one another, in applying said unidirectional web on a continuous and porous support conveyor belt (12), in driving in translation the assembly formed by the support belt (12) and the unidirectional web (1) exerting traction on said support belt, in maintaining the fibres of said web on the support belt (12), in separating the unidirectional web (1) from the support belt (12) and in superimposing said unidirectional web (1) with at least another unidirectional web.
