The invention concerns an automatic coffee machine capable of being used for ground or unground coffee. Said machine consists of easily detachable elements comprising a drawer-frame (1), a rear casing (2), a cover (3) and a container for spent coffee (4) forming the machine front surface and used for installing the removable percolator unit with horizontal cylinder, the drawer-frame receiving the assembly of active elements, namely: the mechanism driving the percolator unit, a water-heater, a pump with axial through circulation, a grain grinder or ground coffee dispenser and a water tank removable from the top or from the front. Said machine is designed to prepare in completely automatic conditions and without human intervention other than using the control knobs, hot coffee of the espresso type, that is delivered and presented to the consumer as it comes out of the percolating phase.
