<p>An abrasion tester designed such that the slip ratio between a test piece (27) and an endless belt (26) is controlled for each test piece such that the slip ratio conforms to a slip ratio data stored in a memory unit (12). That is, in real run the slip ratio between the test piece (27) and the endless belt (26) is controlled for each test piece made of each candidate material such that the slip ratio conforms to the slip ratio corresponding to variations in the slip ratio between a tire made of each candidate material and the road. Here the slip ratio between a tire of each candidate material and the road at each point of time in real run is measured from actual measurements of the force acting on the tire at each point of time in real run. Therefore, the abrasion tester is adapted to satisfactorily simulate the amount of abrasion when the tire is installed in a real car and correctly estimate the order of amount of abrasion of various tires made of candidate materials.</p> |
