<p>The invention describes for the first time the successful clinical application of interferon gamma (IFN-η) in human bronchial asthma therapy. The clinical data show unambiguously that continuous application of IFN-η in relatively low doses can be successfully used for long-term treatment of severe asthma bronchiale, especially for glucocorticoid-resistant asthma. The invention relates also to a combination therapy administering IFN-η and glucocorticoids, which alone are not or not sufficiently effective in asthma therapy.</p> |
