The invention relates to an automatic transmission for motor vehicles which comprises a hydrodynamic torque converter, an input shaft and an output shaft, and gear sets that are shifted by couplings and brakes. In order to actuate the couplings and brakes, the inventive automatic transmission is provided with electric actuators, which are controlled by the electronic control device.
