<p>A Fe-Ni based alloy for a semi-tension mask which comprises Ni in a content of 34 to 45 %, Mn in a content of 0.1 to 0.5 %, and a sum of one or more of Cu, Nb, Mo, W and Ta in a content of 0.01 to 1.5 %, preferably further comprises 0.005 to 0.20 % of Si and 0.005 to 0.030 % of Al, the balance of the alloy being Fe and inevitable impurities, and preferably with the proviso that the contents of C, P and S are 0.010 % or less, 0.015 % or less, and 0.010 % or less, respectively; a semi-tension mask using the Fe-Ni based alloy; and a color cathode-ray tube using the semi-tension mask. The Fe-Ni based alloy is characterized as having excellent creep characteristics. Creep phenomenon causes the problems of occurrence of wrinkles in a mask, lowering in vibration characteristics, and the like. An increased creep rate has been observed when a conventional semi-tension mask is subjected to a blackening processing for improving its magnetic characteristics.</p> |
