The coil former has a base flange (BF) provided with an insertion pocket for reception of a terminal element (AE), having a guide (F) extending parallel to the insertion direction and a bending profile (BP), used for shaping the terminal element. The guide extends at an acute angle to the mounting plane (BE), defined by the underside of the base flange. An Independent claim for application of a coil former for manufacture of a surface-mounted magnetic coil is also included.
