A vehicle emergency stop device (20) capable of providing an assured large braking force by completely catching a road surface with a brake member in an emergency and installed on a vehicle (22), characterized by comprising a bearing (26) capable of being installed on the rear lower surface of a vehicle main body, a brake member (31a), and an arm member (28) pivotally supported on the bearing (26), at the middle part of the arm member, rotatably in longitudinal direction of the vehicle main body, and having the brake member (31a) brought into contact with the road surface installed on one end side thereof when the one end side is rotated from the forward side of the vehicle main body downward and having a stopper part (28b) brought into contact with the rear lower surface of the vehicle main body formed on the other end side thereof.
