The scraper (2) is supported against the tank base (B) and made to rotate by applying a force to its distal end. A method for operating a sludge scraper for a round sediment or sludge separation tank (A) so that the scraper sweeps over the tank base comprises supporting the scraper against the tank base and rotating it using a force which acts upon the distal end of the scraper, at a tangent to the tank periphery. An Independent claim is also included for a round sedimentation or sludge separation tank containing a rotating sludge scraper supported against the tank base by wheels (4a, 4h) or rollers and having a drive device connected to the distal end, the drive comprising a motor-driven chain extending around a guide wheel and a braking wheel. |
