The invention relates to a method for reducing the content of poly-chlorinated dibenzo-dioxins and -furans (PCCD/F) in the effluent gas from high temperature chemical processes. The aim of the invention is to create a method for significantly reducing the content of poly-chlorinated dibenzo-dioxins and -furans (PCCD/F) in the effluent gas from high temperature chemical processes, by the addition of agents which are hardly changed during the process. The aim of the invention is achieved, whereby amides of inorganic acids are present during the process, at least when the conditions exist for production of dibenzo-dioxins and -furans.
