The method involves introducing a quantity of moistening liquid directly into the gas flow that is greater than that required to achieve a theoretical relative humidity of 100 per cent ands removing the residual liquid in the gas flow after the gas flow has covered a distance in the flow direction following the introduction of the liquid. Independent claims are also included for the following: an arrangement for implementing the method.
