The drive mechanism has a bar (36a,b,c) for axially moving a friction roller (9) to and fro. The bar is joined to the friction roller by means of a link (41) producing a relative movement between the bar and friction roller to equalize displacement of the friction roller at right angles to the friction roller's axial direction. The link is in the form of a pendulum bearing. The bar is connected to a link-member (31) moving the friction roller axially to and fro by means of a detachable connection (37)
