1311419 Derivatives of 1-cinnamyl-benzimidazole DELALANDE SA 16 Nov 1971 [27 Nov 1970] 53020/71 Heading C2C Novel compounds of the general Formula I wherein R is C 1-3 alkyl optionally substituted by hydroxyl, phenyl substituted by at least one alkoxy or at least one halogen, benzyl disubstituted in the benzene ring by a halogen and an alkoxy, or a radical -CH 2 N< in which -N< is a dialkylamine in which the alkyl groups are identical or pyrrolidino, piperidino or morpholino may be prepared by condensation of a benzimidazole with cinnamyl chloride in the presence of sodium hydride. Pharmaceutical compositions of the compounds I with the usual excipients show hypotensive, vasodilatric, respiratory analeptic, analgesic, antiinflammatory, spasmolytic and diuretic properties when administered orally, parenterally or rectally. |
