<p>A receptacle has a housing (10) that defines a connector-receiving cavity (14, 16) for receiving a connector (18) therein. The housing (10) has a front face (22) and the cavity has a mouth (24) thereof at the front face (22) of the housing (10). A conductive exterior shield (30) is fitted over the housing (10) and has a pair of opposing side faces (30-1, 30-2), each of which includes a rear edge opposite the mouth (24) of the cavity (14, 16) and a slot (36) at such rear edge. A conductive cavity insertion piece (44) is inserted into the housing (10) and has an interior arm (38-I) and a pair of wings (46). The interior arm extends toward the mouth (24) of the cavity (14, 16) and is in communication with the cavity to conductively contact an outer portion of the received connector (18). The interior arm (38-I) releasably locks the connector (18) as received within the cavity (14, 16). Each wing (46) is fitted within a respective slot (36) at the rear edge of a side face of the exterior shield (30), whereby the wings (46) conductively couple the arm to the exterior shield (30). <IMAGE></p> |
