In the present invention there is disclosed an absorption core (28), intended particularly for a sanitary towel, having a longitudinal axis and a transversal axis being perpendicular thereto and which is divided into three longitudinally oriented parts, and notably to a central part (31), having a first thickness and outer part (30) extending on both sides in transverse direction thereof, whereby each outer part (30) has a second thickness and contains an absorption gel material (42). The central part (31) is flexible with respect to the outer parts (30) when transverse pressure is applied thereto. The first thickness of the core central part (31) is smaller than the second thickness of the outer parts (30) and the absorption gel material (42) is contained in at least the outer parts (30). In the present invention there is also claimed a sanitary towel (20), having a longitudinal axis (O-O) and a transverse axis (A-A) being perpendicular thereto and containing and topsheet (24) that is permeable to liquids, a backsheet (26) being impermeable to liquids and being connected with the topsheet (24) and an absorption core (28) being situated between the topsheet (24) and the backsheet (26). |
