<p>1316625 Compositions containing ampicillin trihydrate E R SQUIBB & SONS INC 29 May 1970 [6 June 1969] 26124/70 Heading A5B [Also in Division C2] An antibacterial composition comprises sterile ampicillin trihydrate having a particle size in the range 5 to 50 microns, at least 50% of the particles of the ampicillin trihydrate having a particle size in the range 20 to 50 microns in admixture with a suspending agent e.g. sodium carboxymethylcellulose, and a dispersing agent e.g. lecithin, the composition being admixed with water before injection. Stable, long-acting injectable compositions comprise a suspension of the above ampicillin in water preferably containing an acidic buffer and having a pH from 4.0 to 7.0.</p> |
