<p>Method for drying strip material esp material impermeable to air, e.g. carpeting coated on one side, uses hot air blown onto the strip, then recycled to the blower. The air leaving the blower is projected onto the strip only along a narrow band parallel to its longitudinal direction; from there it spreads transversely to one or both of the edges of the strip. optionally at increasing speed. In a prefd. appts. the carpeting is conveyed around a suction drum, the air striking the carpet at a central longitudinal slot and being guided transversely across it by a plate extending across the drum.</p> |
