<p>A bearing high in thrust rigidity, excellent in vibration resistance, and simple in structure, and a spindle motor adopting the bearing, wherein grooves (7) are provided in either of a shaft (2) and a sleeve (3) constituting a radial bearing part so that a thrust force acts on the thrust bearing part in the direction that two members opposed to each other are moved toward each other, the grooves (7) are inclined relative to an axis and a thrust force in the direction relative to the thrust direction acts between the shaft (2) and the sleeve (3) due to the inclination, the grooves (7) may be such as to form a herringbone shape or produce the other thrust force and, by shielding a radial bearing part upstream side, to which fluid such as air is led, from the outside air, the thrust force can be increased further utilizing a negative pressure. <IMAGE></p> |
