PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure regulator to regulate an exhalation stream in a constant airway positive pressure device. SOLUTION: A pressure regulator 134 is used in combination with a respiration auxiliary that transports inhalation gas to a patient 119 and remove exhalation gas from the patient 119 requiring respiration assistance. The pressure regulator 134 is structured so as to be connected to a container containing a liquid and a respiration auxiliary during use, and an end conduit means including a proximal end receiving priming gas from the respiration auxiliary and a distal end dipped into a liquid during use. Perturbations occurring in the pressure of inhalation gas supplied to the patient 119 due to bubbling occurring in the liquid during use are controlled to make them relatively small.
