DITHER PROOF DISPLAY DEVICE USING TEMPORAL DITHERING

PURPOSE: A dither proof display device using temporal dithering is provided to remove dithering by dividing and correcting the dithering due to the decrease of frequency component into respective frame, and easily vary the characteristics of pixels by adjusting the size of output values from an error detector and a signal generator. CONSTITUTION: An error detector(401) detects the difference between a value displayed on the display device and input pixel values. A frame counter(403) increments by 1 to count the number of frames whenever a vertical synchronizing signal(Vsync) is input and initialize the count values whenever the count values arrive at a predetermined value. A pixel counter(405) identifies the horizontal and vertical positions of pixels on respective frames. A signal generator(409) outputs correction data in accordance with the output of the error detector(401) and the positions of the pixels. An adder(411) adds the values input from the signal generator(409) and the pixel data values within the display device.
