PURPOSE: A cutting insert has a chip braker designed to correspond with an efficient chip cutting and is usable for inner diameter process as well as outer diameter process. CONSTITUTION: A cutting insert comprises an upper surface, a lower surface, multiple side surfaces, multiple corner side surfaces, cut parts(22, 23), an opening and a boss. The upper surface comprises a sloping surface(40), a chip pocket(50), a main chip braker, an auxiliary chip braker(120) and un upper surface part(130). The main chip braker(100) comprises a sharply shaped hyper fibrous chip braker(111) formed to incline to the lower surface with 7 - 13°of inclining angle and a fibrous chip braker(113) formed to incline to the lower surface with 5 - 10°of inclining angle.
