PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous coating composition which is excellent in weatherability, transparency, adhesiveness, storage stability. SOLUTION: The composition comprises a copolymer obtained by radical polymerization by use of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer having a solubility in water within a specified range and an oil-soluble radical polymerization initiator having a solubility in water within a specified range in the presence of an aqueous dispersion of a polyorganosiloxane.
