PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display and a method for manufacturing the same are to form a protrusion without carrying out any additional process and prevent a damage of a color filter. CONSTITUTION: A gate line includes a gate electrode(22) and a gate pad(23) coupled to a plurality of gate lines(21). The first insulating layer(30) is formed on the gate line including the gate electrode and the gate pad. A semiconductor layer(40) is formed on the top of the first insulating layer. A data interconnection includes a data line(61), a source electrode(62), a drain electrode(63) and a data pad(64). The second insulating layer(70) is formed on the data interconnection and the semiconductor layer(40). A color filter(71) is formed on the second insulating layer(70). The third insulating layer(80) disposed on the color filter(71) is formed in a shape of a protrusion. A pixel electrode(91) is formed on the third insulating layer and is connected to the drain electrode. |
