CONSTITUTION: This liquid crystal display device is provided with a display control circuit CRL for supplying display data to a drain driver DDR of a liquid crystal panel PNL and a gate driver GDR, an illumination power source INV for supplying electric power to a light source L, and an illumination power source control circuit LCON, and when expressing by F the 1st process period in which the display control circuit CRL supplies the display data to the drain driver, expressing by t1 the time from the start of the above 1st process up to the start to turn on a light source L of the 2nd process during the 2nd process for supplying the electric power for turning on-off the light source L for illuminating the liquid crystal panel PNL, and expressing by t2 the turn-on period of the 2nd process, then, the relation among them is made so as to be t1+t2 < F.
