PURPOSE: A method for sharing a trunk line using Q signaling(Q-SIG) in a private switching system is provided to make one system share a trunk line connected to the other system in case that more than two simple private exchanges are linked by Q-SIG. CONSTITUTION: If a user who belongs to the first simple private exchange seizes a trunk line, the first simple private exchange receives a trunk seizure event from the user and transmits a trunk sharing call setup message to the second simple private exchange connected by Q-SIG(ST21-ST24). The second simple private exchange seizes a trunk line that the third simple private exchange can use and transmits a setup message with a dial tone to the user through the third simple private exchange(ST25-ST28). The user transmits a dial digit event to the second simple private exchange connected by Q-SIG through the third simple private exchange(ST29,ST30). The second simple private exchange, receiving the dial digit event, sends the number of the user, connected through a PSTN/ISDN network, to the seized trunk line. Then the second simple private exchange transmits a call processing signal to a user who belongs to the third simple private exchange. Finally the second simple private exchange transmits a connection message with the user connected through a PSTN/ISDN network to the user who belongs to the third simple private exchange(ST31-ST37).
