PURPOSE: A method for preventing a screening message from being transmitted in a NO.7 signaling network is provided to reduce the load of a signaling network by notifying the originating point of a signal message that the signal message has been discarded, in case that the signal message is discarded by a signal message screening function, so that the transfer of signal messages to be discarded can be minimized. CONSTITUTION: If a gateway signaling point receives a signal message(S10), the gateway signaling point discriminates the received signal message(S12) and judges whether signal message screening functions are activated(S14). If the signal message screening functions are in the active state, the gateway signaling point executes the screening functions for the signal message(S16). The gateway signaling point judges whether the signal message passed all signal message screening functions(S18). If the signal message passed all signal message screening functions, the gateway signaling point executes signal message distribution/routing functions(S20). However, in case that the message failed to pass all screening functions, the gateway signaling point discards the received signal message(S22) and generates an MSI(MTP Screening Information) signal message using the screening information of the discarded signal message(S24). The gateway signaling point transmits the MSI signal message to the originating point of the received signal message(S26).
