PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a processed item such as a lid and the like to be efficiently heated and sterilized, the processed item after its heating and sterilization to be efficiently cooled within a short period of time and further enable it to be adapted for high-speed operation of non-germ filling or hot-filling line. SOLUTION: This heating, sterilizing and cooling device is comprised of a combination of a heating and sterilizing device 1 having a steam pipe arranged to inject hot steam to both inner and outer surfaces of the processed item such as a lid 3 or the like along a transporting passage where the item is transported by a turret 11; and a cooling device 2 arranged at a downstream side of the heating and sterilizing device and further having a nozzle 33 for injecting cooling air to the lid along a helical path 32. The cooling device 2 has an accumulation segment 2' at its upstream side, its downstream side constitutes a cooling segment 2", it can keep for a period exceeding a staying time required for cooling operation and further a disadvantage that poor cooling is generated at a high- speed line is eliminated. |
