PURPOSE: To provide an oxide cathode with a new structure having almost no reduction of electron emission within the used period of a color picture tube even if it has high current density exceeding 1 ampere/square cm, although it has an activation time and an operating temperature equivalent to those in a conventional oxide cathode, and a color picture tube loaded with it. CONSTITUTION: This cathode body structure is equipped with cathode pellets 11 formed by uniformly mixing nickel powder, scandium oxide powder and emission agent powder and integrally sintering the mixture in hot isotropic pressure process, and a member of an alloy blended with at least one kind of metal selected from chromium, tantalum, molybdenum, zirconium, tungsten and cobalt and having nickel as a main ingredient is disposed in a part of the supporting member 12 of the cathode pellets 11 being in direct contact with the cathode pellets 11.
