摘要 PURPOSE: A white light source using carbon nanotube and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to have a great emission current with a low licensed voltage and very excellent efficiency of light emission by using carbon nanotubes as electric field electron emission tip. CONSTITUTION: A metal film(200) is formed on lower substrate(100) and used as a cathode. A catalyst metal film(300) is formed on the metal film(200). Carbon nanotube(400) for electric field electron emission is oriented vertically on the catalyst metal film(300). Spacer(500) is installed on the catalyst metal film(300). At the transparent upper substrate(600), a transparent electrode(700) for anode is adhered. A phosphor is adhered corresponding to the carbon nanotubes(400) on the spacer(500). The catalyst metal film(300) is composed of catalyst metal particle(300') divided in nano size. Carbon nanotube(400) is oriented vertically to substrate from each catalyst metal particles(300') by chemical vapor deposition and grown up.
